Dufferin Peel Catholic

Dufferin Peel Catholic Chapter of APSSP numbers approximately 200 members across the four disciplines of Psychology, Child and Youth Work, Speech and Language Pathology, and Social Work.

The Dufferin Peel professional student support service staff has been affiliated with APSSP since 1975. There primary interest was to join a union that was member-run, democratic, and specifically focused on supporting the role of school based professional support service staff. Dufferin Peel Catholic District School Board encompasses a large geographic region and includes the municipalities of Orangeville, Caledon, Mississauga and Brampton.There are 141 Catholic schools including 123 elementary and 26 secondary.

Durham Catholic

The Durham Catholic (DCDSB) Chapter of APSSP represents Child and Youth Counsellors, Communicative Disorders Assistants, an Orientation and Mobility Specialist, Psychologists, Psychological Associates, Psychometrists, Social Workers/Attendance Counsellors, and Speech and Language Pathologists.
Durham APSSP held its first union meeting with an executive of four on June 20th, 1984.Our first Collective Agreement with DCDSB was established for the period starting in September 1984. Our current executive consists of nine members from across various disciplines. Chapter membership stands about 43. As of October 2008, DCDSB had a total of 24,456 students enrolled. This number consists of 15,618 elementary students and 8,838 secondary students. DCDSB has 39 elementary schools and seven secondary schools. The board also supports an adult Education Centre, a Catholic Return Ticket Program, a Continuing Education Centre, and a Learning to 18 Program.

Halton Catholic

The Halton Catholic (HCDSB) Chapter of APSSP represents Child and Youth Counsellors, Communicative Disorders Assistants, Psychometrists and Psychological Associates, Speech and Language Pathologists, Attendance Counsellors, Social Workers, and Secondary School Librarians.

The Halton Chapter is a longstanding member of APSSP.

We are currently over 90 members. The HCDSB consists of 39 elementary schools and seven secondary schools. There is a total of 3,570 staff within the board of which 2,370 are teaching staff, school administrators and supply. Approximately 1,200 staff are support, e.g. managerial and clerical. The Halton Region includes Burlington, Oakville, Milton, Acton and Georgetown, which has many rapidly growing areas.

London Catholic

The London Chapter of APSSP represents Attendance Counsellors, Board Certified Behaviour Analysts, Psycho-Educational Consultants, Psychological Associates, Social Workers, and Speech-Language Pathologists.
Our first Collective Agreement was ratified in 1999. Our membership ranges from 20 to 25 in any given year. The London District Catholic School Board has 43 elementary and 9 secondary schools. Approximately 18,000 students in the counties of Middlesex, Oxford and Elgin, including cities of London, St. Thomas, Strathroy, and Woodstock are educated in our school system.

Niagara

The Chapter’s membership stands at about 58 individuals.
The Niagara District School Board consists of 97 elementary schools, with about 27,130 students. It covers 12 Ontario municipalities of Fort Erie, Lincoln, Niagara Falls, Niagara-on-the-Lake, Pelham, Colborne, St. Catharines, Thorold, Wainfleet, Welland, and West Lincoln. There are approximately 1,375 teachers employed by the Niagara District School Board.

Toronto Catholic

The Toronto Catholic (TCDSB) Chapter of APSSP represents Attendance Counselors, Audiologists, Community Relations Officers, Psychology Staff, Social Workers, Research Associates, and Speech and Language Pathologists.
The first Collective Agreement was ratified in 1999. The Chapter’s membership stands at about 203 individuals. The Toronto CDS Board consists of 168 elementary schools and 31 secondary schools, with about 87,500 students. There are approximately 5,700 teachers and 2,800 Support and other academic staff employed by the Toronto CDS Board. In addition, there are over 300 principals and vice-principals and 225 administrative staff.
